Our History

The Davidson Company Inc. started out as the E. Robert Davidson Company in a 3,000 square foot converted gas station and serviced the New Haven/Waterbury areas of Connecticut. The company was sold to David and Eva Rowe in 1974. Fueled by a passion to build relationships with local food service companies, David and Eva focused on providing high-quality goods with high-quality service in mind.

Today, our company lives by these same values. As a testament to the winning spirit of our founders, we have become the largest Specialty Foods distributor in New England, carrying over 6,000 items in Specialty Kosher and Ethnic lines at our Newington, CT warehouse facility. Thanks to you, we continue to experience steady growth. We have over 350 dedicated employees and deliveries of our products to all of New England, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, California, and Delaware.

In 2016, Davidson Specialty Foods was acquired by C&S Wholesale Grocers, the nation's leading grocery supplier and a company that shares Davidson's dedication to customer service. We continue to operate as a separate organization while leveraging our partnership with C&S and opening doors for significant growth opportunities.

At Davidson, we are thankful for our past and open to the many wonderful opportunities that lie ahead. We hope to share our long history of providing quality products and service with you. Learn more about how Davidson Specialty Foods can help your business.
