Connecticut Food Bank – Providing over 4,360 Meals

On May 17th, a group of Davidson employees volunteered their time at the Wallingford distribution center for Connecticut Food Bank to help support their mission of providing nutritious food to people in need. Donated food items, which include non-perishable items, fresh fruits and vegetables and frozen meat products, must be carefully sorted and checked for expiration dates and other product damage before it can be distributed to the food pantries, soup kitchens and other feeding programs the food bank services in six Connecticut counties.

Our group was able to sort over 5,556 lbs. of food, providing 4,630 meals to persons in Connecticut.

It is important to us to give back to the community and help those in need, and being a food distributor, helping the food bank in our own state is near and dear to us.  To learn more about what the Connecticut Food Bank does, visit them at ctfoodbank.org
